I've Been Tagged!!

This is for you Deirdra:

1. What was I doing 10 years ago? Scott and I had just met on a blind date on a Friday the 13th. I was the dairy manager at Smith's, working by butt off (maybe I should go back to work because my butt found me again). Going to the community college in the evenings.

2. 5 things on my to do list. Clean house tomorrow, go visiting teaching, clean sheets on all our beds, clean my craft room, organize the girls closets and drawers

3. Snacks I enjoy. Ice cream (especially vanilla bean), Pepsi, Swedish fish, hot tamales, Betty Crockers jumbo pop popcorn (no substitutes), and more Pepsi

4. Things I would do with a million dollars. Get out of debt so that Scott would quit harping me about spending money we don't have, buy new vehicles, new clothes and anything else that I "think" I need. Do you know how hard it would be to write out that tithing check? Since we are dreaming, I would spend all of it and not worry about saving any

5. 3 Bad habits: biting my fingernails, throwing stuff from the counter into my bedroom when I clean up the kitchen and trying to finish sentences for people I am talking to

6. Essentials in my house. Rice bag for my feet in bed, Pepsi, gum, Johnson's baby lotion (I try to keep Addyson a baby by using the lotion, it's not working)

7. Things I love to buy. Clothes for the girls, children's books (it's really an addiction), anything on sale

8. Movies I could watch over and over. Maverick, Pretty Woman, Dumb and Dumber, Overboard, Top Gun

9. Something you may not know about me. I have a fear of being in front of a big group, like sacrament and having to talk. I am not afraid to say no when asked to do it. Even sharing time was hard for me to do and the kids don't really care what you say. I start to sweat and panic at the thought.

10. What did I do yesterday? Slept in until 8:30, but only got up then because Janae had pinched Addyson on the arm where she had gotten shots the day before. Was lazy until after noon. Finished cleaning the ice off the driveway (good thing too, it snowed today). Cleaned the garage out, including sweeping the piles of dirt out. Cleaned the car inside and out. Went grocery shopping. Made dinner and did dishes. Washed, dried and folded 6 loads of laundry (still working on putting away). Cleaned 6 mega packs of chicken breasts to package and put in the freezer. Took a long hot bath and went to bed at about 2:00 am. No wonder my back was killing me!!

I tag anyone who wants to tell me about themselves. If you don't have a blog, send me an email.

See you later, Uncle Skyler!!!!

The girls don't really comprehend that he is going to be gone for a long, long time. They already ask when Uncle Skyler is coming back over for dinner. How about sometime in August or September?? On Wednesday, February 13, my brother Skyler left for bootcamp at Fort Jackson, SC. He signed up for the Army for 3 1/2 years and left feeling excited for the changes he was making in his life. After a week at bootcamp, I wonder if he is feeling excited still?? Probably not. As he was leaving my house for the last time, I reminded him that he could only blame himself when he decided that he didn't like military life. Actually though, I think it will do him good to follow through with something and he might even mature in the process.

Heres Comes the Tooth Fairy

So, when Janae went to the dentist at the beginning of January, she had 2 teeth that were just starting to feel loose. She has been telling me for months that her teeth are loose, she wants so bad to loose one. Well, Addyson decided to help her out. We were heading out of town for the weekend and the car was packed. I was grabbing the last few things that we needed, the girls were supposed to be buckling up. When I went out, Janae was screaming and had blood pouring out of her mouth. Apparently Addyson didn't like something that Janae had said to her, so she hit her in the mouth. Out popped a tooth!! After the initial shock of seeing (and tasting) blood, Janae was so excited. On the way to pick up Scott, she called any family members that she could think of to tell them her news. She was so excited to get a visit from the tooth fairy that night. She even knew to find us at Grandma Neff's house!

Daddy/Daughter Sock Hop

On Saturday night, Scott and Janae had a date. Janae's girl scout troop had a sock hop, complete with the poddle skirt and rolled up jeans. They had a great time. Janae's favorite part was the dancing moves that dad taught her. She is looking forward to going dancing with him again.

Happy Birthday Addyson!

So today we had Addyson's 4th birthday party. She kept calling today her pretend birthday, since Monday is her real one. We had 12 kids here, a few more than were invited. She wanted to have lunch with her friends, so we fed them corn dogs, veggies, and fruit. IT seemed to be a hit with all but 1 kid. Next came so games and then the highlight of the party. The kids had to follow a map to get to the birthday cake, all the while watching out for Swiper the fox. We went downstairs in our quest and Scott put a mask on like Swiper and surprised the kids after they all got upstairs. They thought it was great!! Addyson had a great time today.

FYI: If you are considering a Dora party with a Dora cake, buy one from a bakery. The Wilton pan it too complicated.

Check out my Slide Show!

Kid's say the darndest things!!!

So the other night my mom and dad were eating dinner with us and Addyson was talking about her upcoming birthday. She is trying to figure out if I can really make her go back to 2 instead of forward to 4. She laughs when I joke with her but she really isn't sure. Janae piped in that it is just so weird that on her last birthday she turned 6 and it was exactly 6 years since she was born. He little face was so cute because she thought she had finally figured it out. Then she was amazed when grandma said that on her birthday she was exactly 60 years older than on the day she was born. What a concept!!
Addyson came into my bed the other night burning up with a fever. She snuggled for a while before having a coughing spasm and spitting up a lot of junk. I got up to give her medicine and told her that I would snuggle in her bed with her since dad needed to sleep before having to get up for work. When we crawled in her bed, she started shaking and saying that her bed was shivering and she needed a corn bag to warm her up. I bet to her, the bed did feel like it was shivering, especially with a temp of 103.

Janae so wants to look like me. Lucky for her, she looks as much like me as she does Scott.
