We (Finally) Have Two Bike Riders

We have been trying to get the girls to ride 2 wheel bike for a few years. Janae started last summer, but quickly became afraid again. Addyson was following her sisters lead and was scared too. Finally, we had them at the track and they were both able to overcome their fears and ride.
Addyson rode around the track about 15 times that night. She sure slept well that night!

Janae too a little longer to get going, but when she did, she was great.

Take a Kid Fishing Day

Trout Unlimited sponsored the annual Take a Kid Fishing day. It was over at the pond at the golf course in Rock Springs. Each kid had a limit of 6 fish, which Addyson reached in about 1 1/2 hours. Later on, she realized that she only had 5 fish, but not before the event was over. Janae started out slowly, but didn't want to stop fishing when it was ending. She caught 2 and release 1 back into the pond. Both girls had a great day fishing with their dad.

Cake Decorating Classes

I took some cake decorating classes a couple of months ago. I learned how to make several kinds of flowers in one of the classes.
Clockwise-calla lily, carnation, daisy, bow, rose and mum

Here are a few of my finished cakes. The turquoise is a decorated cake board.

Keith Young 5K

We walked in our first 5K as a family this year. The girls and I walked the first year, last year Addyson was sick so Scott stayed home with her, so this was the official first time. We stayed close throughout the race(walk) and ended up finished together as a family.

Scott won a medal in his first walk ever, taking third place in his age group.

We have another one next weekend that we are doing as a family.

Chalk It Up

The girls participated in the city's Chalk It Up event again this year. They had been practicing their designs on paper for a few days before the event. Addyson's looks nothing at all like what she practiced, but still turned out cute. She worked hard on getting the whole earth colored in, which took the majority of her time.
Janae's turned out like she planned. She also spent a lot of time coloring the blue water. I had a couple of little Smurf's when the drawing was over. Neither girl won a trophy, but they both received great artist ribbons.

Last Day of School

The school year came upon us pretty quick this year, or so it seems. The girls like to give all their teachers a little thank gift. I usually make some candies for them, but I had no time nor motivation to do so. Instead I came up with this little cheesy idea. The girls and their teachers loved them, so I guess cheesy is okay.
Addyson received several awards at the awards assembly, outstanding attendance being one of them. She only missed one day the whole year.

Janae also received several. She only missed about 1 1/2 hours of school the whole year, for an orthodontic appointment. (We don't believe in sick days around here.)

Wild Horses

One Saturday, Addyson and Scott took a drive up in the hills looking for some wild horses. They were not disappointed! They came across this group, that even had some babies with them.

Addyson's Family Quilt

A few months ago, Addyson sent an email out to all the family asking for pictures she could use to make a quilt at school. After many long evenings, we finally got all the squares decorated and returned to school. She spent a few days assembling the squares into her quilt. Hers was the biggest in the whole grade! She is very proud of her quilt, can you tell?
Can you find your picture?
