We Have a 6 Year Old!!!

We no longer have a 5 year old at our house. It's a little sad to think that our baby is getting so big. Time has gone by so fast since Addyson was born. It definitely doesn't feel like it's been six years since she was born. She is a joy to have as part of our family. Not only is she so dang cute, she is smart, funny and such a helper.

Addyson is the top reader in her class-reading at 1st grade level. She reads chapter books now and even the scriptures! She completes her work at school neatly, correctly and quickly. Her teacher depends on her to help the other kids out when they need help. She is in Girl Scouts and was looking forward to selling cookies. Addyson also performs in Tavaci and does a great job learning the songs and actions.

I was teasing Addyson about not letting her turn 6 today and she told me that no matter what, she was going to. This morning when I went to wake her up, she informed me that her muscles felt stronger and she could tell that her bones had grown overnight, so she must be 6 now. Gotta love her reasoning! She told me that even if her body gets bigger, she will still be my baby forever.

Addyson loves to help around the house. She is great at setting the table every night, grabbing a load of towels to fold without being asked, turning beds down, getting toothbrushes ready. The list goes on and on. She is so helpful and I am glad that she is mine.

Some of her favorites right now:
TV show- Hannah Montana
Colors-Hot pink and turquoise
Friend-Alex
Person- Mommy (most of the time)
Food-Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Thing to play with-BABIES!!!

I look forward to our snuggle time every morning and night and enjoy it every chance I get.

We all love you Addyson and we are so happy you are part of our forever family!

We're Famous!

We had the opportunity recently to be drawn into an artists painting of Green River. The artist, Eric Dowdle, grew up here and was commissioned by the city to paint a very large painting for the Chamber of Commerce. He offered the chance to anyone else, for a fee, to be drawn into the painting. We thought it would be a neat way to remember Green River after we're gone. (Did I say that out loud? I guess that is just wishful thinking on my part.) Anyways, it turned out to be an awesome picture and we are so glad to have purchased one.

Addyson Got a Haircut

Addyson has too much hair. Really, she does. Her hair is thick and long. Not any more. I talked her into getting a haircut and told her about Locks of Love. I showed her pictures of kids without wigs and then with wigs. She wanted to donate hers, so I made an appointment.

Before and during the cut.
The result:
about 10 inches of braid is being mailed today
so cute!!

I LOVE her new look, don't you?
