Graduation Day

Today Addyson graduated from this year's preschool. The other girls in her class go to kindergarten next year, but she gets to go back to Mrs. Kari. Kari had some fun games planned for the girls and their parents. Scott was the only dad that attended, Addyson thought she was special because of that. Fun was had by all! Next came the ceremony. They sure looked cute and way too grown up in their caps. Last, we had a picnic lunch. Yummy! Addyson's favorite part was the chips, she doesn't get too many of those at home. The cake was a close second though. Our baby is growing up fast. Only 1 more year of preschool.

Hogle Zoo

We went to SLC for the weekend and took the girls to the zoo on Saturday. We usually go in the middle of summer when it is scorching hot, both for us and the animals. So this year we decided to go in the spring to avoid the heat. Good thing we planned the weekend that we did, it was only 90 degrees! Who knew that it would be that hot in May????? We got there early and had a good time before it got way to hot. Addyson's favorite animals were the giraffes and "Alices". (Camels) Janae liked the show with a Siberian tiger and his trainer. Their favorite part of the day was the gift shop where they got to spend their own money. Janae, being a girly-girl, chose a mood ring, a purse with a stuffed monkey in it and rocks that look like jewels. Addyson chose a t-shirt at the last second and several pieces of candy. When I asked Janae on the way back to grandma's what her favorite part was, she told me, "Being with my family." What a sweet kid!

Coppelia is Finally Over!!

Opening night

After makeup

Both girls decided to try out for the spring ballet this year.  The ballet Coppelia is a cute story and they both had a good time.  What they didn't know going into it, was how many practices there was going to be.  Janae wanted to try out for Nutcracker last fall, but I wouldn't let her.  I am not ready to turn my holiday season into one long practice and/or performance, sorry.

They have both had ballet class once a week, at different times of course, since January.  In addition to that, they have had practice at least once a week for Coppelia.  The last two weeks have been a big, long practice.  Last week especially was crazy with dress rehearsals and performances for Coppelia and Tavaci.  They actually missed one performance of Coppelia because of their Tavaci concert.  I am relieved that last week is over, but they are probably even happier!!.

We are now done with almost all extra ciricular activities for the school year.  The laziness of summer can't get here soon enough!

Tavaci Concert

On Friday night, the girls had their final Tavaci concert.  They were especially excited to sing this time because Grandma and Grandpa Neff, along with Uncle Mike, came to watch.  They were so cute dressed up.  Janae and a few other girls did a special number that was really cute.  She was, of course, the cutest of the bunch.  Both are planning on singing with the group again next year.

Thanks Smelly!

Cute dies

My sister Meredith sent me a surprise in the mail the other day. I had to stop and think when the FedEx lady came, "Did I order something?" Meredith told me that is a sure sign I order too much when I can't even remember if I am expecting something. She sent me a Cuttlebug with several dies in cute shapes. I am thrilled to get it! I can't wait to get some embossing dies to add dimension to my cards. Thanks so much Smelly! (By the way, I told Scott thanks for having a job, so that Santa could bring you stuff, so that you could thank me with a Cuttlebug.) What a great surprise :)

P.S. If I were to put a Toyota Sequoia on my wish list, will anyone buy that for me? You can even choose the color :) :)

One smart girl!

Addyson usually takes a shower with me in the morning. It's easier and faster than putting her in the bath and then me taking a shower. She likes the days when she can take a long, hot bath (must take after me). On Thursday, she didn't have school or gymnastics, so she decided to hop in the tub. She hasn't played with her tub toys for so long, they were like new to her. She played while I did dishes and cleaned up in the kitchen. She yelled to me "MOM! Come quick" , not something a mom wants to hear. I went running and found this on the shower wall. She was proud of herself, as she should be.

I want one too!!

A friend of mine has a great purse and large bag that her mom made her.  Can you guess what it is made out of ?  That's right, seatbelts.   Not being a girly girl, I am not into purses and other accessories.  My friends mom makes them and sells them for reasonable prices, unlike the ones I found online.  I may have to get one soon.  My philosophy has always been "If I needed it, it would fit into my pocket".  Maybe it's time to grow up and carry an actual purse.  What do you think?
