REAL Salt Lake Soccer Game

Over the 24th of July, we took the girls down to Utah to watch the parade in downtown SLC. They have only seen parades where the most decorated float is a pickup pulling a boat with a few streamers taped to it or an oilfield truck with no decorations. They were impressed by what they saw. Later that evening we took them to a REAL soccer game at the Rio Tinto Stadium. We bought cheap tickets way up top but Uncle Mike came to our rescue and found seats for us down in his season ticket holders section. I think we were only 7 or 8 rows back . They girls had a good time, especially after grandma and grandpa brought them candied nuts to snack on.
After the game, we headed down to the field to watch the 24th of July fireworks. I think I had more fun watching their faces, especially Addyson, than I did seeing the fireworks. They both made themselves comfy and giggled throughout the show.

Janae's New Room

Janae got a quilt for Christmas in 2009 from Santa. She wanted to wait to put it on her bed until we painted her room. I'm guessing she thought it would be done sooner than 6 months later. Anyways, her are the pictures of her room after. While painting over the old pink color with the new pink, I realized that the new pink made the old one look white. Yikes, can you say bright!?!

Garden Fairy Class

The nursery in town held a fairy garden class one Saturday in July. Both girls were excited to go. They got to hear stories about fairies and where they are said to have come from. They actually taught the teacher everything they know about fairies that they learned from Grandma Neff. They both thought they were pretty special sharing stuff that even the teacher didn't know! From there they went on to a fairy house, one that was big enough for them, to make crafts and have snacks. After that they went on a scavenger hunt around the nursery for fairy items. They had a great time and are hoping to do it again next summer.

Dreaming of Camping????

I can only guess that Addyson was dreaming of camping when she fell asleep this night.

Visitors

We see a lot of wildlife here in Wyoming with so much open space, but not usually this close. These deer were munching on clover and my flowers that survived the horrible hail storm in early summer.

Fourth of July

For the fourth of July, Scott's brother and his family came for the weekend. They spent the one day fishing and the girls and I got to watch Corbin for the day. Addyson was in heaven having a 3 month old baby to dote on. For the actual holiday, we invited the Atkinsons over to join us for dinner and dessert. The girls helped plan the menu of mini burgers, hot dogs, salads and chips. For dessert, they helped plan and make our mini candy bar flag, fruit kabobs and stars and stripes cheesecake.

Who would have thought that we would need winter coats to watch fireworks?
