First Day of School 2010
I can't believe that my baby is old enough to be in 1st grade already!! But, she is and her are pictures to prove it. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Shears, the best 1st grade teacher ever. How did Janae get to 4th grade already? Time flies. Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Kerr.

Aunt Carrie and Uncle Skyler

After Skyler got back from Iraq, he and Carrie come for a 2 week visit. It was nice to have them at our house and get to know Carrie more. One evening, they decided to go on a hike up by the college, so the girls and I tagged along. I've lived here more than 30 years, and never once been hiking. Some spots were really steep, but we all made it to the top for a view of the city. On the way back home, Addyson ran up to Carrie and talked her ear off, while Janae did he same to Skyler.

S'mores!
We spent a week at Bear Lake in August this year. After being in Maine, near the ocean and beaches, Bear Lake is the closest thing to the ocean we have here. We camp up one of the canyons, in the trees, but spend the days down at the water. We had s'mores one night for a bedtime snack. Addyson obviously enjoyed hers!

Meteor Shower
On August 12-13, the Perseid meteor shower lit up the night sky. Here the girls and Scott are laying out on the front lawn watching it.

The next day, I was talking to our neighbors from across the street. Moriah asked if Janae and Addyson had camped out in the front yard the night before. When I told her no, she said that her husband had let the dog out and had heard them talking and giggling but couldn't see them. I just thought it was funny that our neighbors keep an eye out for our girls too.

Wyoming's Big Show
Once again, we took the girls over to the fair one night while it was here. It's the same thing every year, but the girls don't get tired of it. We wondered through the petting zoo, through all the junk booths and the concession booths. You can't go to a fair without getting something fried to snack on. We got an elephant ear and some nachos to share before heading over to the concert. Jason Michael Carroll was performing that night. The girls had never been to a concert before, so they were fun to watch as they took the whole concert scene in. Janae complained about the music being too loud in the beginning, but soon decided that she liked it loud. Addyson couldn't see standing on the ground, so she climbed up on dad's shoulders for a better view. She was able to get a better picture of him from up there than I could. Janae and I kept pushing our way forward and we ended up about 10 rows back from the stage. She decided on the way home that Jason Michael Carroll was her new favorite singer. What a fun thing to experience with our girls!

Surprise Lunch
Once upon a time, a mom and two girls had a lazy summer morning at home. They slept in, snuggled in the mom's bed, told silly stories and watched a little tv. After several hours of lounging around, the mom decided to take a shower. One of the little girls, went into the bathroom where the mom was showering and asked if she was hungry. The mom said she was a little hungry but she would eat after she got dressed. The mom took her time getting ready for the day, that was half over at the point, and went looking for the little girls. To her surprise, the girls had fixed lunch for themselves and the mom. The mom couldn't believe what a lucky mom she was to have such sweet little girls of her own. Lunch was delicious and they all had a great day. The End
