Help
I have changed my background, again. I do it often because I get bored easily. I can't seem to change the colors of my links in the sidebar. I choose a color but it stays purple for some reason. Does anyone know what to do about it?

Fancy Nancy Party
When she thought she was all ready to go, I took her into my room and put some make up on her. She was more excited about the make up than anything else. I think that I might have started something though. As we were getting ready for church this morning, she came into my room an wanted to know if she could put her own lipstick on today. In about 10 years, honey!

Weekend at Marcia's
On Saturday, we went to Hobby Lobby to do a little shopping. Scott is glad that there is not one close by, we'd be broke constantly. Later that day, we went to the Science Zone to let the kids play. It is a small children's museum type of place. The girls had a great time with it all, and Michael liked to follow the girls around.
My, what BIG teeth you have!

Valentine Cookies

We invited some friends over today to decorate some Valentine cookies with us. Who would have thought that you could get more candy sprinkles on the floor than on the cookies?!? These kids were great at just that, but they had fun doing it :) My favorite part of the day was watching Dalan eat the frosting, like he was never going to get frosting again. He is so stinkin' cute!

My Baby Turns 5
When she decided it was time for her to make her entrance into the world, she wasted no time. She was born just 2 1/2 hours after I got to the hospital. At 7 lbs 5 oz, she seemed tiny. She was immediately taken to the nursery because of her breathing. Later we found out that she was born with pneumonia. Poor baby had to have an IV for the first 48 hours of her life. She was trooper then and still is now.
My Addyson is such a sweet, thoughtful little girl. She loves to surprise me by doing things for me. It's not uncommon to find her making beds, picking up toys, etc. just to be nice. I love that she is a "pleaser" and pray that she stays that way. She also is a great snuggler. We snuggle every morning and I am not looking forward to the day when she gets too big to snuggle with me. She loves to play dolls and house with Janae, even if she has to be the baby most of the time.
I asked her what some of her favorites are, and these are her answers:
Favorite food: chicken and pasta
Favorite color: pink
Favorite game: wrestling with daddy
Favorite movie: Dora Saves the Snow Princess
Favorite tv show: Toot and Puddle and Wow Wow Wubzy
Favorite friend: Emma
Favorite book: Usborne Stories for Girls
Favorite person: mommy (and Jesus)

Addyson's Surprise Party

After discussing countless time what theme Addyson wanted for her birthday party, I gave up. She changed what she "really, really" wanted no less than one dozen times. She started out wanting a birthday cake with a picture of a birthday cake on it. Next came my favorite, a cake with a picture of her on it, draw by me. What she didn't realize is, I have trouble drawing a stick man. She told me she would pose next to the counter for me and that I could just keep looking at her. Yeah right. So after her indecisiveness, I planned a surprise party, inviting those she had mentioned in earlier discussions.
Grandma and Grandpa Neff came up on Friday to take her to lunch and stayed the night. They got up on Saturday morning to head to Home Depot for the Kid's Time. I told Scott not to show back up here at home until a few minutes after 1:00. They had a hard time finding things to do. Home Depot was out of projects, so they wondered around the store for a while. I'm sure the girls had a blast with that. Then they went to eat at Broadway Burger. Addyson informed me that she was special because she got to eat lunch out 2 days in a row. Lucky her!
Most of her friends were here when she showed up. She came running in because her friend Izzy was here, she'd seen their van. Boy was she ever surprised, although later she informed me that she knew about the party. The look on her face was priceless! We did a teddy bear theme and had friends bring their favorite teddy to play games with. I think fun was had by all.
After doing one surprise party, I'm sure that we will be planning another one in about 7 1/2 months for Janae.

Little Miss Smarty
We've always talked about Addyson going to kindergarten when she is five. She's so excited to go, maybe even more than I am for her to go. On the way home from preschool the other day, we were talking about what she wanted to take to school for her birthday treat. Our conversation went like this:
Me- Addyson, what kind of treat do you want to take to school to share with your friends?
Addyson- I won't be there to share with them. (with lots of attitude)
Me- Yes you will.
Addyson- NO I won't mom. I won't go to preschool at Mrs. Kari's anymore. (more attitude)
Me- Why not?
Addyson- Because after I am five, I will go to Jackson with Janae and ride the bus to school with her.
Me- Not until next school year, after summer.
Addyson- That's not what you told me!
Apparently we needed to explain about when the school year starts and ends with her. I felt bad having to burst her bubble, telling her that she still has about 4 months of preschool to go. But, I am sure she will survive!

I Need Your Help!
This is what Addyson looks like every night when she goes to bed. Any one who knows her, knows that she can't leave her hair alone, and when she is playing with her hair, she's sucking on her tongue. What started out as a cute habit, now drives me berserk!! It doesn't hurt anything or anybody, when she does it, but I can't stand it! I've tried to tell her that she can't go to kindergarten next year if she still plays with her hair, but she won't stop. She actually told me the other day that "I have tried and tried and tried to stop but can't, so I guess I'll have to stay home with you." Not the outcome I was looking for. So, if anyone has any bright ideas to stop this annoying habit once and for all, please speak up.
Valentine Countdown

A friend had these cute Valentine countdowns on her blog recently, (thanks Jeanna), so I decided to copy them for the girls. They were so simple to make and turned out cute. (Note to self: buy clear saran wrap next time. The blue just doesn't do justice for these) They would be a lot cuter had I used clear wrap, but, blue is what I had. I told the girls that we would cut one candy off each night until Valentines Day, after we ate dinner. Addyson is still finishing chewing her last bite when she hands me the scissors to make the cut. You'd think that my kids are deprived of candy the way they act. The countdown is on at our house!
