All I want for Valentines's Day
Janae has had a loose tooth for a while now. She will have me push on it to loosen it even more. Last night I decided it was time for it to come out. Scott had tied a piece of floss around it 2 nights ago and tried, but with no luck. I talked her into pushing the tooth back far enough for me to hook a piece of floss above it. One yank later, we had a tooth hanging low on one side. It couldn't stay that way, so we had to get it out. I found a piece of gauze that Janae used to pull on the tooth, still no luck. So, Scott tied a piece of floss onto the tooth again and gave it a good yank. Success! She cried because she was concerned what the kids in her class would say about her new look. After reassuring her that every single one of the kids in her class either already had (or would soon) look like her, she seemed better.
I love the picture of her crying, holding her tooth. After trying for quite a while, with no luck, to get the pictures in order, here they are. Top right is before, top left is during, bottom right is right when it came out, bottom left is after she had calmed down and middle is the new Janae. I teased her that she could make up a new song titled "All I want for Valentine's Day is my 2 front teeth". She didn't think I was very funny.

Our Family Date
![]()
We decided to surprise the girls today and take them out on a date. They didn't know that was what we were doing until it happened. We went to Rock Springs to do pick up a few things and decided to get a snack since it would be a while until dinner. Scott asked what we wanted. Addyson piped in first with "Cold Stone!!" (that's my girl) I mentioned that the bagel shop was closer and more healthy, so we should go there. When we were in the mall parking lot, I told Scott that I had changed my mind and wanted popcorn instead. We told the girls that we would just get some from the theater and eat it in the car. Janae didn't believe it for a minute. She wanted to know what movie we were going to see. She has been, in her words, "sooo wanting to see Marley and Me for a long time". It was a cute show. I asked Addyson on the way in if going to the movie was better than going to Cold Stone, to which she replied "No, Cold Stone would be better." About 45 minutes into the movie she wanted to know if she could leave, so I guess she wasn't lying. I am too cheap to pay for candy at the theater, so I always take some in my purse. After devouring a bag of popcorn and some Sugar Babies, Janae wanted to know if she could have more candy. Scott told her to hold off on it because we were going to a fancy restaurant for dinner. He had been given a gift card to Coyote Creek, a steak house, from work. As we were heading there, the girls were excited to be going to a fancy restaurant. When we asked them what a fancy restaurant was, my sweet Addyson informed me that "It's too hard to 'splain." She told me that she really does know what one is, but couldn't tell me. I'm not sure how I got so lucky to have 2 such cute and well behaved girls, most of the time anyways. I love them both so much. I think it was a great day and hope to have another family date soon.

One more attempt at sewing
My baby brother, Skyler, is in the Army. I saw this panel one day and thought he would like it. My idea to make it into a blanket that was long enough he could actually use, was a good idea. I let Scott talk me into the camo for the back of the blanket. I was thinking of going a nice solid red or blue that would match the front, but he talked me into the camo. The blue is a much better choice than the green he picked out first! I think that the blanket is perfect for the Army boy/hunter. I hope he likes it as much as I think he will. I wish I were more confident in my sewing skills. I get ideas like this, and then stress about it the whole time I am making it. I'm sure Scott wishes that I would quit getting ideas so he won't have to hear "Honey, what do you think of this" or "Tell me the truth, how bad is it?" I apparently never learn!
UPDATE!!!
taking it out of the bag, he thought it was a "cool camo" blanket, until he saw the front
I think it's safe to say that he likes it
Fun at Grandma's

We usually go to Grandma Neff's the day after Christmas and this year was no different. We spent several days there and the girls had a blast. It was even better this year with their cousin Jimmy there too. They get away with a lot more with Grandma than with mom and they take advantage of that. Notice the picture of the pancake and the can of whip cream. Between the two of them, they started and finished the whole can in one breakfast. Grandma was told that she needed to be in charge of whip cream from now on. They played in the snow with grandma and grandpa, played on the swings, played dress up, opened even more presents (good thing too, they needed them..... like a hole in the head). The moms and dads got to go out one night to a very tasty Brazilian Grill, while the kids stayed with grandma and grandpa to have pizza and watch a movie. We almost didn't know what to do without having to tell someone to stop throwing food or to keep their little butt on the chair, but we made do. It's nice to have a hot meal, at least every once in a while. Good times.

Christmas Dinner and the babies

We had dinner with friends on Christmas night. Jake did a great job with the prime rib and potatoes, very yummy. Thanks for letting us invite ourselves to eat with you, we'll have to plan it again soon. Deirdra recently had twin boys and the girls have looked forward to seeing them. Addsyon was in heaven getting to hold and feed Logan. Janae was a natural at holding a baby. She'll make a great sitter in a few years.
