Our Family Date

We decided to surprise the girls today and take them out on a date. They didn't know that was what we were doing until it happened. We went to Rock Springs to do pick up a few things and decided to get a snack since it would be a while until dinner. Scott asked what we wanted. Addyson piped in first with "Cold Stone!!" (that's my girl) I mentioned that the bagel shop was closer and more healthy, so we should go there. When we were in the mall parking lot, I told Scott that I had changed my mind and wanted popcorn instead. We told the girls that we would just get some from the theater and eat it in the car. Janae didn't believe it for a minute. She wanted to know what movie we were going to see. She has been, in her words, "sooo wanting to see Marley and Me for a long time". It was a cute show. I asked Addyson on the way in if going to the movie was better than going to Cold Stone, to which she replied "No, Cold Stone would be better." About 45 minutes into the movie she wanted to know if she could leave, so I guess she wasn't lying. I am too cheap to pay for candy at the theater, so I always take some in my purse. After devouring a bag of popcorn and some Sugar Babies, Janae wanted to know if she could have more candy. Scott told her to hold off on it because we were going to a fancy restaurant for dinner. He had been given a gift card to Coyote Creek, a steak house, from work. As we were heading there, the girls were excited to be going to a fancy restaurant. When we asked them what a fancy restaurant was, my sweet Addyson informed me that "It's too hard to 'splain." She told me that she really does know what one is, but couldn't tell me. I'm not sure how I got so lucky to have 2 such cute and well behaved girls, most of the time anyways. I love them both so much. I think it was a great day and hope to have another family date soon.

Was the movie worth it? I have been wanting to go see it too.

I heard that the movie should have been rated PG-13? Do you think so?

I love that post. That sounds like it was so much fun. How fun for your girls, too. I remember when my parents would do fun stuff like that. You definitely never forget experiences like that.
