Summer School

Addyson was able to take a summer class called "Kindergarten: Here I Come" this month. The class is designed to prepare the kids for kindergarten by teaching them the social and listening skills they will need in a few months. She went for 2 hours a day for 2 weeks. Here she is with her teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Schnackenberg, or Mr. and Mrs. S. She had a great time and is counting the days until school starts. (I am counting them faster though!)

Father's Day Weekend

Scott's family had a family reunion Father's Day weekend. One of his distant relatives owns Seven Peaks in Provo and offered to have the reunion there, free of charge to all family members. We went down to Provo, even though it was down pouring. We met some of the family and chatted a while. Some one made the suggestion of getting a rain check for a nicer day, and I was all for that. Unfortunately, the rain passed, though it was still overcast, and most everyone decided to go in. I was against the idea because of the weather, but was overruled. We stayed in the water for about 2 hours before it got too cold and rainy. The girls had fun, so I guess it was a good day.

Scott's brother, Lee and his family came from Boise for the weekend also. The girls love to play with their cousins. They all had a great time with a puppet show, marble run, the swings outside, jumping on beds and watching movies with Grandma and Grandpa while the parents went out for dinner. I can't lie, it's great to have babysitters while in SLC.

Aunt Meredith's Surprise Visit

My little sister, Meredith (aka Smelly) came for a visit from Arkansas. She told only me that she was coming because she wanted to surprise everyone. She came with her mother-in-law on Sunday for about 2 1/2 weeks. She parked her car in my garage so no one would know she was here. When my parents came over for dinner that evening, she hid downstairs until they were settled. I made my mom sit down and put down her pop before Smelly came upstairs. It was great! We did the same thing later on when Brock and Judd came. The only reason she was able to stay quiet for so long was I bribed her with homemade turtles. I was shocked that she was able to keep quiet. I ended up making her a batch of turtles and 4 different kinds of suckers for her accomplishment. Great job Smelly, we got them good!

Before she came, Meredith ordered me both cake pans that are in a previous post, with the understanding that I make her an Oreo cake while she was here. Both pans are so stinkin' cute! Here is my first of many to come, Oreo cakes. The frosting is thick, like a double stuff Oreo. Thanks Smelly!

Hint, hint.......

I found this cake pan and am sure it will be finding its way to my house soon. I need it! If anyone wants to buy if for me, order if here.

I found this brownie pan also, so you might as well add it to your order while you're at it....you know, to save on shipping and such.

I'll be anxiously waiting by the door for the UPS guy.

Chalk It Up-Take 2

Janae had a much bigger area to draw in. Here she is hard at work. The wind was blowing 30 miles an hour and the temperature was only about 50 degrees, chilly.

Janae ended up drawing an ocean scene. The finished product.
A lobster

A dolphin

They had fun and are already planning and practicing what masterpiece to create next year.

Chalk It Up

The city hosted their annual Chalk It Up event on Saturday. The girls have been planning for weeks what they were going to draw. What they actually drew was nothing like they had planned. Oh well, they had fun doing it anyways.

Addyson had a great time with the chalk paints. It's hard to see in the picture, but the circles in the pink tic-tac-toe board are smiley faces. She was able to accomplish this masterpiece in 30 minutes.

Not a trophy winner this time around, but she had fun.

Field Day 2009

Janae had field day on Wednesday, June 3rd. I volunteered to help and felt lucky that I got to man the blow-up slide. What a great spot to be in charge of. All I had to do was tell the kids hitting, pushing and flipping were not allowed.

The water balloon station. One of Janae's favorites.
