Today I planned on making potstickers (fried won tons) as part of our dinner. The girls always want to help, but I usually try to get them interested in something else before I start. I know, I truly am a mean mom, but it is so much faster to do things like that by myself. Janae kept a close eye on what I was doing and kept asking when I was going to start. I gave in and let her help. I was quite surprised at how good she was at folding the potstickers. Hers looked like presents to her. She thanked me several times for letting her cook with me. I also heard several times that she can't wait to be as good a cook as me. To which I replied, "You just don't know what other peoples cooking is like." She then informed me that she did and mine was the best. I still think she has led a sheltered life and will be surprised what good food really is when she tries it. Anyways, she had fun and so did I. I will be letting her help more now, she is growing up after all, and has show how much help she can be.
