Say NO to Tabasco!

At the wellness day yesterday, the Dare officer was there to talk about harmful substances. I was a little alarmed when he showed a picture of a bag of pot and asked the kids if they knew what it was. About 5 hands shot up, of the 40 or so kids in the group! My girls would have no clue what it was. I was thinking that maybe I keep them too sheltered. Evidently I do. Later in the day, Addyson wanted to know what we were having for dinner. When I told her enchiladas, she told me that dad couldn't have any more Tabasco. He likes a little more spice than the rest of us, so he uses Tabasco to kick it up a notch. When I asked her why he couldn't have Tabasco, she told me that the policeman said Tabasco can make you sick so he couldn't have it any more. It took me a few seconds to realize what she was talking about. I almost didn't correct her, it was too cute. I wish all four year olds could make that innocent mistake. Unfortunately, most kids know all to much about things they shouldn't, i.e.-drugs, alcohol, "tabasco".

Too sheltered, never a problem. It's disturbing how much kids know about way too much! Innonence for a while is just fine, they'll find out soon enough. Also, about the applesauce a few posts ago. The amount of sugar would make anything fabulous! I actually wondered if that's really how they made it. Your little chef Addyson is too funny, and doesn't even know it. They say the cutest stuff!

Seriously, I swear my little sisters know way more than I do about things they shouldn't even know about! That story is cute though! It made me laugh!
