Being the cool mom that I am, I decided to surprise Janae and her class with a treat in honor of April Fool's day. I didn't say anything to her about it, just showed up in her classroom with some mini "hamburgers". They were all surprised and excited to eat their "hamburger".

They were super easy to make and very tasty.

I tried to think of a fun dinner for the girls tonight too. I searched online for a few days trying to find just the right food, but never really found what I was looking for. So, I decided to make some cupcakes for them....... meatloaf cupcakes frosted with mashed potatoes that is. Janae knew that it was meatloaf from the smell, but tried really hard to believe that I was actually going to give her a cupcake for dinner. I think they turned out cute, don't you? I did get Janae, Addyson, Judd and Kiara with the apple fries though. Janae had a friend come over to play today, which worked well because I was able to prepared everything while they stayed busy and out of the kitchen. I had the apples cut and in a bowl ready to be baked. They really did look like seasoned fries. Judd took a few and the look on his face was priceless when he realized that he wasn't eating potato fries. I bet Scott is sorry he missed the dinner, we know how much he likes dyed food. I will have to keep looking for ways to fool them next year.

2 Thoughts:
Those are so cute. How did you make them? Vanilla wafers and frosting and what else?
